Part-Time Maintenance Tech Position

Position
We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine and special projects as the need arises. We’re seeking a jack of all trades handyman. If you can paint, fix faucets, change light bulbs, cut grass, and repair a washer and dryer, you are who we are looking for! The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled duties throughout our campus buildings.

Duties
• Either make or see that all repairs in the three buildings are completed in a timely manner
• Repair broken and leaking plumbing fixtures and pipes
• Check and change all HVAC filters on a scheduled basis
• Repair electrical outlets, appliance and outlet covers
• Aid staff in moving furniture and arrange for meeting rooms to be cleaned and set up for meetings
• Schedule oil changes and minor repairs for all agency vehicles
• Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
• Make weekly checks of the grounds for trash, limbs, and other debris that needs to be cleaned
• See that bushes are trimmed as needed
• Clean sidewalks and cinder parts of the driveway and parking lot as needed
• Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as needed
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as needed
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems

Qualifications

• Clean criminal history and background
• 5 years maintenance experience
• Must be able to have full physical mobility
• Requires experience in maintaining large facilities with a “Jack of All Trades” approach
• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
• Capacity to take direction
• Strong attention to detail
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population
